I went with my daughter on the Hay Elementary School field trip to the Seattle Children's Theatre. We saw the "Big Friendly Giant". It was really great - the stage was very creatively decorated and required minimal changes throughout the show. The costumes were very funny, and the characters were engaging.
It was perhaps a bit over the heads of the 5 year olds I was with (the big friendly giant catches dreams with a butterfly net and gives them to the queen of England by playing a fancy bugle), but it was a spectacle to watch, and if it was over their heads, it was by just a notch.
One recommendation - bring snacks. There's an intermission.
